Reduce The Bags Under Your Eyes

Are bags under your eyes or dark circles under your eyes a problem for you?

I have olive skin so the area underneath my eyes is always dark. Even though I have dealt with this problem for years, I have never been able to completely get rid of it. The circles under my eyes make me appear tired or sickly all the time.

If like me you have problems with bags under your eyes, then I am happy to tell you that I have found a number of ways to lessen their horrible appearance.

Regularly getting a good night's sleep is the number one way to combat the bags under your eyes. Unfortunately, if like myself you lead a busy active life, you cannot always guarantee that you will get a decent number of hours sleep a night. Thankfully, there are some more practical alternatives when it comes to working on those bags under your eyes.

The best advice I can give you is to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. Drinking at least eight glasses of water a day, not only flushes the impurities out of your skin, which helps alleviate the dark shade of the circles under your eyes, it also benefits your entire body.

Exercising regularly each day is another good way to help your skin look healthier and more refreshed. A short workout of around twenty minutes, of sufficient intensity to elevate your heart rate and make you sweat, works wonders on your skin. You will look more rested than you would have otherwise and the sweat will help clean out your pores and leave your skin feeling softer.

If these tips don't help with the bags under your eyes, it may be time for you to make friends with concealer. This is much more effective than foundations, as concealers tend to be thicker and dry more quickly. You should use a shade that is slightly lighter than your natural skin tone. this will help cover up the bags under your eyes and make your eyes look more refreshed. I usually use a layer of light concealer, followed by a thin layer of foundation.

Using shades of makeup that is lighter than your natural skin tone, only around your eyes or directly over the bags under your eyes, will create the illusion of lighter skin and the makeup will cover up your problem area.

Make sure you use concealer instead of foundation. In my experience, I have found it lasts longer as it does not wear off as quickly as foundation will. Concealer also comes in smaller containers than foundation so you can hide it in your purse or pocket and reapply whenever you need to.
